Use as a primary source of calories during exercise and competition lasting up to two hours. Consume one serving 5 - 15 minutes prior to exercise. For more info about consuming servings per hour during exercise, we recommend looking at the table below.
Important! Don’t forget to drink 475 - 825 ml of fluids per hour to support proper hydration. Only Energy Gel as hydration is not enough.
Our energy gels for running or cycling have a syrup-like consistency that mixes easily with water if desired. You can drink it straight, dilute it, use it to flavor other Hammer Nutrition Fuels, or just to flavor your water bottle.
Hammer Energy Gel flavors can be mixed for a variety of tastes. Try these combinations:
- Banana + Chocolate or Espresso = Banana Split
- Orange + Vanilla = Orange Creamsicle
- Raspberry + Orange + Banana = Fruit Punch
- Raspberry + Espresso = Raspberry Mocha
- Vanilla mixed with any other flavor to make it milder for long-term use
Consuming more calories than you need can cause nausea and stomach pain
Keep in mind our motto: Less is Best!
If you weigh between 55-70 kg, you need to take 1 - 2 gels per hour. If you go exercise for 2 hours, this means that you need 2-4 energy gels.

You might want to mix different fuels. When you do that, make sure to get the correct amount of calories. Say you weigh between 55-70 kg. That means you need around 100-150 kcal per hour.
If you want to mix Energy Gel with HEED, for example, you can take 80 calories from the Energy Gel, and 40 from HEED. You still get the correct amount of calories you need, which are around 100-150 kcal, but you are using different fuels.
When you mix, don’t go beyond your recommended amount of calories per hour.
1 serving is approximately 90 calories
